I Have A Heart Murmur And Was Wondering If I Can Go On Roller-coasters ?
I have a heart Murmur and was wondering if I can go on rollercoasters? I have a heart murmur. Pulmonary Stenosis to be exact. I was wondering if I can go on Rollercoaster or can t. My parents always told me I shoudln t but I ve never heard a doctor tell me I can t. I have no idea. So, I was wondering if any of you can help me out here. Can I ever go on a rollercoaster? If I can t, then why? And what would happen if I did? Remember I have a Heart Murmur.... Pulmonary Stenosis. Alright, I still have the murmuer and I have to go to Childrens Hospital in Philiadelphia every 2 years for checkups. I had to get a balloon dilation when I was 5 years old. (Surgery)
depends on how bad it is. Some people could go on a roller coaster and it wouldnt bother them. others it might. Hell, a person perfectly healthy could have health problems on some roller coasters. Roller coasters raise your adrenyline levels dramatically and also your blood pressure. There are a lot of negative G's (Forces times Gravity) on roller coasters and depending on the levels, even a perfectly healthy person could have a heart attack. Without being able to see your EKG's or heart levels I would not be nor would anyone else be able to give you a personal diagnostic. You would need to see a doctor to get a straight answer. If you choose not to, then take it slow. Dont just jump on the most dangerous and exciting ride you can find. Try a little one first and work your way up. Take a 1/2 hour break between rides (and with the lines that wont be a big problem) Make sure to check your pulse after the ride and make sure that when you step off the ride you are not going over 120 bpm's. Have fun!
