I Have Hyper Pigmentation On My Neck, Hand, Legs Upper Back And Stomach With Dryness And Sometime Itching.
I am 28 yrs old and have hyper pigmentation on my neck, hand, legs upper back and stomach with dryness and sometime itching. I underwent skin biopsy at AIIMS bt the report says although amyloid deposit could not be appreciated on this biopsy, the background is compatible with macular Amyloidosis. could u plz clarify thid condition and available treatment in india

Hi Amita,
They say it is mostly hereditary and you can't comeplety get rid of it. What you can do is take adequate measures to reduce its offset. First thing....do not scratch the part that itches. Try and use calamine or a cream which will ease the itch. Once you scratch the area it turns red and then a darker colour. To get rid of the marks will take you years, so prevent it. Take Allegra 150 if required if the itching in unbearable. Increase your water intake to get the toxins out. Have 1 ltr of lukewarm water first thing in the morning. Include fresh juices and coconut water in your diet. Try and combat stress with yoga. Pranayam and surya namskar. Most times I have noticed that stress induces the itching. Try and take your mind of it. Keep out from the sun as it will make it worse. Use a good sunscreen on your neck and face after bath and while outdoors. Try Neutrogena Ultra Sheer. Most of all try and find a good, sorry great dermatologist who will prescribe a regime of creams to lighten the areas which are exposed and which might embarass you in public. Steer clear of Kaya kind of clinics, they will charge you a bomb with feeble results.
