IS It Dangerous If Frontal On The Top Of An Infants Head Is Not Closed?
My son is 21 months and his fontanel on the top of his head is not yet closed. Should I be concerned? He's also been labeled failure to thrive and has some developmental delays. We've had him tested for chromosomal abnormalities already and the test came back normal. Could the delayed closing be due to his poor weight gain?
Hi dear welcome to the HCM, Vitamin D deficiency may be the important cause for such situation . Can be excluded with doing Xray wrist, Vit D level, Alkaline phosphatase level . And can easily be treated with supplementation of Vitamin D available in oral or injectable form. Malnutrition can be also taken care of by supplementation of proper diet by the nutritionist. Hope the query is answered. thanks
