IS Warfain Effective In Curing Bruise In The Leg?

My husband ran his calf into something and has a huge bruise and his leg, it is swollen down to his ankle. It is going on 2 weeks now and not any better. Hurts to touch and when he has it elevated and lowers it he has trouble walking for the first few steps. He is on warfain so I want to make sure all is well. If he needs to see a doctor what kind of doctor?

Hello,

The bruising and pain are not subsiding due to the effects of warfarin which increase bleeding tendency.
However, it is not safe to stop Warfarin on your own.
You need to follow up with a primary provider who can assess the extent of hematoma and his other medical conditions, and decide on whether temporarily stopping Warfarin is required.
Meanwhile, apply ice to the area of pain. Take rest and Tylenol if the pain is too bothersome.

Hope I was able to help you
