Now with a exterior bag she should have no colon. Fecal matter and urine tract is seperate so if she bleeding from the vagina why would the would do a colonscopy.
Hi, How are you? My name is Dr Suresh Raghavaiah. I am a Surgical gastroenterologist and I hope to answer your question today. I am sorry to hear about all the problems your friend is going through. I am sure the colonoscopy is being planned for a couple of reasons. The first one would be to rule out any recurrent cancer which ends up eroding into the vagina and might be causing bleeding. The second cause could be to rule out radiation induce damage to the colon, which unfortunately, also causes erosion of the colon into the vagina. The best person to obviously answer the query will be the treating physician. Hope this helps and hope your friend stars to feel better. Please do not hesitate to write back for clarifications
have a great day Dr Suresh Raghavaiah
