Infant. Fever With Cold, Cough. On Maxtra Oral Drops. Suggest

Hi Dr. Santosh my baby girl of 6 months of age is having fever of 100.8 F , if i want to go to nearby hospital it would take 1 hour that too transportation is having issue. today after noon she has some cold and cough so i bought an maxtra oral drops and feed her 2 times i.e first time at around 21:00 (the baby body temparature was 98.4 F) and the second dose is at just now (23:50)
Can you please suggest us what to do now??

Hi,thank you for your interest in HCM.It seems your baby girl is having URI and you can simply rely on Paracetamol only to reduce the temperature,but sometimes Antihistamine with decongestant drops or syrup may be added to get symptomatic relief.Paracetamol is given 6th hourly 0r 4th hourly also when the fever does not subside,no need of Antibiotics in the first 5-7 days unless there is secondary bacterial infection.
