Hi,
Thank you for asking question on health care magic
it looks like infective diarrhea
the treatment offered is alright
as the stool test shows presence of reducing substance, milk should be avoided
lactose free formula like soya bean milk or zerolac may be used instead
ORS solution 50ml after each motion may be offered to prevent dehydration
Hope this answer will serve your purpose
Take care

General & Family Physician Dr. Albana Sejdini's  Response
Hi,

As your baby has pus cells in the stool, it means that has infection, which is being treated well by bacigyl N. The antibiotic has a slow effect (usually apearing up to a couple of days); therefore, you should wait peacefully.

To keep your child hydrated, you can use oral rehydration salts (O.R.S) and give plenty of water.

In my practice, I use Metronidazole syrup in such cases successfuly.

Next, please keep a good hygiene when handling your child's feeding, always wash your hands and the hands of your child.

In addition, I recommend mothers to use banana with yoghurt (greek style, not the yoghurt drink) for the diarrhea to stop. Crush banana (or blend it), mix with yoghurt and give to your child.

Wish fast recovery to your sweetheart!

your baby has pus cells in stools with blood cells too and has fever also.this all indicates that your baby is suffering from dysentry and for this you need to give antibiotics to your baby.give ors and zinc to your baby.syp zinconia 5 ml once daily for 14 days also. enterogermina and bacigyl should work. plz maintain proper hygeine. if bottle is offered to baby thn stop it. if your baby does not improves thn have a stool routine microscopic, culture and sensitivity done of your baby. this will help to locate the exact cause ant he can be treated accordingly.
