Infant Currently Teething Has Cold, Frozen Hands And Feet. What Could Be Causing This?
Hello, my baby boy is 8 months he s currently teething and seems to be coming down with a cold , at the moment he always has cold hands and feet , I m not sure if this is linked to a cold ?. He doesn t have a fever , feels warmer than usual but I think that s due to his teeth. I just want to know if I should be concerned wither coldness of his hands and feet
Hi ,
Thank you for your query.
There is no reason to panic. If your child's hand and feet seem cold cover them up.Always measure the child's axillary temp for 2 mins before suspecting fever, If it is 100F or more treat it as fever.A child's body should always feel warmer than an adults hands.Your child is absolutely fine so don't worry. Hope this answers your query.Have a nice day.
Hi
Coldness of hands and feet is not related to teething and it may be due to hypothermia due to low environmental temperatures. So cover infants body with appropriate clothing and wear gloves to hands and feet. For cold you can give antihistamine oral drops after consulting your doctor.
