Infant Passing Green Stools, Given Econorm And Oflomac, Causing Vomiting. Suggest A Good Medicine?
my 4 months old baby passing green stool, from 20 days baby having this green stool problem, yesterday we consulted doctor, and made stool test , doctor said bacteria present in stool and suggested to use econorm(powder) and oflomac( syrup) to give. baby is omiting when we are giving oflomac.can u please suggest a good medicine for my baby and what kind of care should be taken for baby. thankyou.

Dear madam,
I understand your concern regarding your baby. As long as your baby is gaining weight well, color of stools should not be an issue. Are you exclusively breastfeeding your child. Because babies on only breastmilk produce mustard yellow or greenish yellow stools. Baby on other milk supplements will have other colors. Everyone's stool has some good bacteria, hence bacteria in stool doesn't signify anything unless we know the type of bacteria. Econorm is safe and supplements good bacteria and hence it can be given for a week. No need for giving antibiotics for a condition that has been present since months. Instead concentrate on giving exclusive breast feeding.
