Sir, my baby is 3.5months old and weight 5.5kg, she is suffering from cold since last 10 to 12days. Dr first pescribed Maxtra then Koferest and now he has given Taximo syrup 3ml twice a day, ventryl -3ml 4times a day and omnacortil-3ml thrice daily.. My question is it the right dose to be given or we have to reduce some.

Pediatrician 's  Response
Hi,
Thank you for your query on Healthcare Magic.
Have you shown your child to a Pediatrician?
I advise you to consult a Pediatrician for the examination of your baby and for treatment advise.
Drops are usually preferred to infants below the age of 1 year instead of syrups.
For simple cold oral antihistamine drops like maxtra drops are required.
Kofarest drops are used for cough.
If there is no fever and no signs of infections, usually antibiotic (Taxim-O) is not required.
Omnacortil is steroid and I advise you to stop as it has no role in the treatment of cold.
Therefore I advise you to consult your Pediatrician for the appropriate treatment advise.
Hope I have answered your query.
