Infant With Greenish Diarrhea After Taking Nutramigen. Is This Normal Or Iron Deficiency?

4 month old baby...was have green diarrhea, switched from Similac Advance to Nutramigen...instant turnaround and poop was "normal" again. All of a sudden, back to green diarrhea once a day for a month...switched to Gerber Good Starts Gentle and now his poop is greenish-grey and shiny...1 or 2 a day. Is this normal? Could it be an iron difficiency? Or something else?

Pediatrician 's  Response
Dear user,

The colour of the stool is not the only criterion for getting worried. You have to look at the child first; is she gaining weight normally? Is she playful and does she sleep well? Is she urinating 4-6 times in 24 hours? Does she have any other symptoms like vomiting, fever etc. ? If the answer to all the above questions are indicative of a normal baby, then stop worrying.

Hope this helps!
