Infant With Mixed Feeding, Having Diarrhoea. Stool Test Normal. Anything Wrong In Breast Milk Or Formula?

Hi Samuel, My baby is 4 months old, I m mix feeding her at the moment. 2 weeks ago she started to have diarrhea so I take her to see GP, the doctor examined her and stool test everything is normal, now she still has watery pooh but less frequency than before. Do you think is there something wrong with my breast milk or formula? Thanks Libby

Hi Libby,
Thank you for your query on Healthcare Magic.
I advise you to give exclusive breastfeeding to your child till the age of 6 months.
The diarrhea may be due to a virus or bacteria due to contamination by giving top feeds with a bottle.
Maintain hydration by giving breastfeeds frequently and by oral rehydration solutions like Pedialyte.
You can give probiotic like lactobacillus or saccharomyces after the advise.
The wrong may be in the technique of feeding in giving the top feeds.
