Infant With Watery Yellowish Stool. M-cid Suspension And Vomikind Prescribed. Not Responding To Medications
Hello Doctor, My baby is of 18 months old and on 10.03.2013, she has been suffering from waterly stool in yellow color. we met the children s specialist and he prescribed initially 1. P-250 suspension(60ml), 2. zenflox-oz suspension (30ml), 3. Domstall suspension 4. walyte ORS-IP powder. However, it was not controlled the loose motion for the second or third stool delivery Of course, she delivers her stool in morning hours as normal, but for the second or third time, the stool become loose with some gap or per day 6 to 7 times. Again we met the doctor and explained the situation. the doctor prescribed 1. M-cid suspension(30 ml), 2. vomikind (30ml), 3. walyte ORS-IP powder and 4. STIBS packet. Still she used to deliver soll as i explained above.The doctor also said that if the second time prescribed medicine wouldn t work, then she could have to be given injections morning and evening for 3 days, regularly.Your advice is more appreciable and thanks in advance.

At this stage the best thing to do is get your daughter investigated like a blood and stool test to know exactly how bad the infection is and whether there is infection in the first place.If there is positive infection then antibiotic will be needed.If there is no evidence of infection then this Loose motions may be because of transient lactose intolerance in which case you need to restrict her milk intake give her curd ,probiotic and suspension zinc and in few days time she will be better.
