Injury To The Foot. Severe Pain Despite Wearing Ankle Brace. What To Do?
My friend jumped and landed badly on the ball of her foot and now the arch and outside edge of her foot hurts. So the pain is mainly on the top of her foot. Icing her foot hurts her more. she is a gym instructor and needs to be on her feet all the time. At the moment, she has salon pas patches on her foot. Wearing an ankle brace also hurts her. Any ideas on what to do to help? Besides seeing a chiro asap.

Injury To The Foot. Severe Pain Despite Wearing Ankle Brace. What To Do?
Hello. Thanks for posting your query. From description it seems to be soft tissue injury or ligment injury. You need an x-ray to rule out any bony injury. I suggest you to consult an orthopaedician nearby for a detailed examination. You may get the X-ray of the area affected under his/her guidance. Beside icing and elevating it, you can take anti-inflammatory drug like motrin to reduce pain and inflammation. Avoid putting weight and rest well. Regards. Dr Saurabh Gupta
