Irregular Period, Having Femilon, Planning To Conceive Later. Any Effect On Pregnancy?

Hi, I used to have irregular periods last year but now they were regular since january 2013. Last month I was delayed by 15 days. My doc suggested me to have femilon and leave it one month before you want to concieve. I am planning to concieve after 2 years. Is it safe to have this pill for 2 years? will it effect my fertility anyhow? Is there any effect on the pregnancy ??

Hello,

FEMILON is a combined OCP and it is used to treat irregular period beside contraception effect. It gives more than 99.9% against unwanted pregnancy with regular taking on scheduled time.

Yes, it is quite safe and does not effect on future fertility. Your fertility will regain within 3 months of stopping the pill. There is no effect on future pregnancy also from this pill.

You must treat the causes of irregular period after proper diagnosis before planning to conceive. USG scan and hormone tests may be required.

You must take healthy diet with low carbohydrate, do regular physical exercise to control body wt, reduce mental stress and maintain genital hygiene.

Good luck.
