Irritation While Swallowing, Drank Too Hot Substance. Will Peptobismol Help?
EI ate something too hot and I think I have irritated my esophagus since I tried to eat supper but when I swallowed I was in pain..the only thing I could eat was a bowl of ice cream. Even when I swallow I feel the irritation, it is not my tongue nor my throat but further down my esophagus..What could I take to releif this, is peptobismol a good IDEA..
The esophagus is a very sensitive structure, especially to irritations. Appropriate and timely treatment in this case is compelling for two main reasons. Poor healing can lead to reduction in the diameter of the esophagus and cause serious disabling swallowing problems. Secondly, treatment might require some lifestyle measures, and when complications set in, correction could be expensive and difficult. The drug you are taking is good for the purpose. I suggest you do not hesitate in case symptoms do persist beyond a week or aggravate to see your physician, maybe the expertise of a fibroscopy specialist, to visualize the esophagal picture could be needed to adapt the treatment. thanks and kind regards.
