Is 250 Mg Azithromycin The Right Medicine For Chlamydia Infection?

Hi I found out I have chlamydia, I was perscribed 4 pills of 250 MG azithromycin . Thought I had to take 1 a day so took 1 to work... ant find it now so read the instructions and i was supposed to take all 4 at once. Since I only have 3, will that work?!?

Welcome to Health Care Magic. I understand your concern.

With such presentation in my clinic, I usually prescribe the following recommended treatment regimens to cure infection and usually relieve symptoms:
- Azithromycin 1 g orally in a single dose
OR
- Doxycycline 100 mg orally twice a day for 7 days.

Being that you took 1/4 of the dosage of Azithromycin, I would recommend you better take another 250 mg tab in order to get the proper dose of treatment.
I would recommend also that your partner is treated too. To minimize the risk for reinfection, you also should abstain from sexual intercourse until your sex partner is treated.
