Is 30mg Of Mirtazapine The Right Medicine For Panic Attacks , Insomnia And Depression?

Hi, I am currently taking 30mg of Mirtazipine nightly, and suffer from panic attacks, insomnia and depression. I was thinking about trying 5-htp during the day to see if it keeps my anxieties at bay but have read mixed things as to whether it s a good idea or not.

Hello, Welcome to Health Care Magic

I can understand your concern. Mirtazapine is NAsSA drug and it is a good drug for moderate to severe depression and in various anxiety disorder. The drug is a safe drug and doesn't cause serious side effects. It is known to cause sedation so this effect can be utilised for persons suffering from insomnia. In my opinion the drug is right drug for your symptoms.

5-HTP can help in sleep and anxiety but taking the drug with Mirtazapine can cause serotonin syndrome so in my opinion you should at least consult your doctor before starting it.

Thanks, hope this helps you. Take care
