Hi doctor, A week ago I did the pap test, and the results was 3 grade-ASCUSS. Then the doctor recommends me to use Albothyl. It is like a liquid medicine, and with a small piece of cotton cleans my cervical for 10 days. is this the right therapy? I have not heard before about this medicine... I have not been pregnant and I am afraid of any side effect? Thank you!
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
As you that atypical squamous cells of undetermined significance in your career test your doctor might have prescribed albothyl. Usually it helps in cauterization of cervical lining and also in treating any possible vaginal infection. The possible side effects are some amount of discomfort and irritation etc. If the symptoms persist better to start the treatment and consult your gynecologist once. Otherwise if you are comfortable with the treatment you can continue this as prescribed by your gynecologist and according to the manufacturer the results are good.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
