Is Arrow Fluoxetine And Prozac The Same Medicine?
Are Arrow Fluoxetine 20 mgs MVP Activis light green and yellow capsules the same as my previous Fluoxetine green and purple ones. I was on Prozac years ago which was good but these substitutes seem different. Can I get the real Prozac or is it just a brand name change with the same measures of ingredients.

Fluvoxetine hydrochloride is the active ingredient in both Prozac and Arrow Fluvoxetine. Prozac is the original molecule from the company that invented the medicine. Arrow Fluvoxetine is the copy (generic) which the company is allowed to make and market after the expiry of the patent period. The amount of the active ingredient is the same but may be from different raw materials and if there are other inactive ingredients, they would be different.
Prozac is made by Eli Lilly company and is available in many countries. Your pharmacist would be able to tell you whether it is available in your area.
