Is Atarax Safe To Be Taken For Rashes On The Body?
I have a rash on the left side of my body. My Dr. said it was caused by allergy to a medicine. Perhaps the Allegra I started taking 2 days ago or the hydrochlorazide sp? , ( diuretic) I started a week ago. (I was given the diuretic because I had been taking Prednisone for breathing problems from pneumonia earlier this year. I had stopped the Prednisone April 22 and that s when the water retention started in my lower legs, ankles and feet. ) Thank you any way. I m sorry I did not realize this was a site I would be paying for an answer.I have many side effects to medications. I am wondering if this Atarax will be safe for me to take?
Hi. As per your case history you may be having rashes either due to hydrochlorthiazide or viral rash or contact dermatitis rash. Allegra is least likely to cause rash.
My treatment advice is - 1. Avoid using any new products like soap or deodorants. 2. Avoid taking any other medicine without doctor's advice. 3. Stop hydrochlorthiazide after consulting your physician. 4. Take atarax as it more potent antihistamine than Allegra. Apply calamine lotion twice daily on rash.
