My 85 y old mom in law is in hospice care . She has congestive heart failure. She is obese. She began to have panic attacks and is unable to think rationally . During the panic attacks she has the hospital call her kids and wants them to come immediately . They gave her atavan. Is this ok? Life expectancy is 6months.
Hello, Ativan may be okay in this circumstance. However, you need to be aware that it can make older patients more confused and it also increases the risk of falls. Regards
