Hi..
Can understand your concern..

As per your query blood in sputum may be due to infection and inflammation in throat like sore throat and tonsillitis..

If it is just a traces of blood when you apply force to clean your throat and you were already having throat infection you may not be needed to be worried if you are young aged and not suffering from any long standing disease ( as you did not specify your age and medical history)

It may be due to recurring of throat infection..

Azithromycin is the right medicine as it is given to treat a wide variety of bacterial infection..

I would suggest you to see your doctor again and get clinical evaluation done..
It may be due to recurring throat infection..

Till that you can do warm saline gargles..

Keep yourself well hydrated to avoid dryness of throat..

Drink warm drinks avoiding caffine in drinks..

Take soft and less spiced food..

Taking hot milk with a pinch of turmeric boiled with it at bed time can be helpful..

Hoping there is nothing serious and you get well soon..
Thanks and regards..
