Is Azithromycin Safe To Be Used For Cold Sores On The Face?
Hi I m just wondering if azithromoycin or Zedd is used to treat general herpes/cold sores on face area? I knw it s an antibiotic and can help with general infections, respiratory problems, uti s and read can assist sti like chlamidia. But will it assist with lowering facial (usually lips or just near nose) cold sore outbreaks, that generally once started will rapidly and quite grotesquely spread all over my face? :/ Thankyou for any assistance or advice u may have on this em :)

1. as you know azithromycin is a antibiotic and anti inflammatory med
2. cold sore is due to herpes virus
3. so no way azithromycin won't have any impact on cold sores
4. you require oral anti viral medication like valciclovir 1g tab thrice in a day for 7 days
5. get HSV DNA PCR analysis for confirmation
this will help you
