Is BP 150/70 A Matter Of Concern In 70 Year Old Having B12 Injections Every 6 Weeks?
Hi There, I recently had to visit a hospital for a b12 injection and while there was told my BP was 150/70, and I was told not to worry. I do worry as I am 70 years old and have to have b12 injections every 6 weeks due to stomach removal years ago. I am travelling around in a caravan and aprt from worrying about my husband s health am relaxed. Did I answer my own question?
From your query I understand that you are concerned about you blood pressure being elevated to 150/70. In my practice a single pressure of that level does not make for hypertension. I would counsel you to get several blood pressures over the next week or two and if the pressures still remain elevated with the top number being greater than 140 or the lower number greater than 90 then I would contact your physician. To get your best blood pressure reading take it in the morning in a seated position, relaxed and with the cuff at heart level.
The taking of vitamin B 12 injections would not be the cause of your elevated pressure
