Hi,I am Dr. Prabhakar Koregol (Cardiologist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have been having undiagnosed medical issues, yesterday I went to the er with BP of 178/110 pulse of 120 when resting. They s said I was fine& sent me home. Today my resting pulse is consistently over 85 while resting when it used to be closer to 65 when resting. Should I be worried?
Hi and welcome to HCM. Your BP is on higher side, Normal BP is 120/80 mmHg. Any readings above 140/90 mmHg is High BP. U have not mentioned your age, which is important consideration here. Any one high reading does not mean that a person in suffering from Hypertension. At least three readings done a week apart is necessary. If all the readings done at different times show high readings, then it needs treatment. Pulse rate vary at different times. I suggest u cut down salt in diet, do some physical activity daily, restrict fatty foods and follow your doctors advice, u will be fine. All the best. Regards
