Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

Along with cough your child had any other symptoms?? like rashes / redness of eyes? Chronic or recurrent cough is not only due to allergy it may be due to GERD I.e reflux of milk from food pipe to air pipe & causes cough so please tel me your child had any history of vomiting & excessive irritable cry during night times?

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
