Is CEA Level Of 34 Normal While Having Gastric Adenocarcinoma?

Hi, Doctor- My father was diagnosed with Gastric adenocarcinoma in late May. His CEA level was 54 on his early June blood test. Without any treatments, his current CEA level is 34. We ve been only giving him different kinds of home remedies. We would like to know what does the drop in the CEA number mean? Can this mean that the cancer is shrinking? Is it possible for the CEA to go down with herbal teas, vitamins, fresh vegtable juices, etc. Thank you very much in advance. Greg

The home remedies that you are undertaking have no proven benifit of shrinking the cancer. just by looking at a marginal drop in CEA one can't comment if the tumor load has reduced. we need comparison scans for that also need to assess the patient.
