Is Candinox Tablets The Right Medicine For Yeast Infection?
Hello, a few weeks ago I had a Yeast infection and was given candinox vaginal tablets which I took for a week and a half. I noticed near the end of my prescription my vaginal felt tight and I had developed a rough spot at the top of my vagina. I thought it would go away on its own, however a week later it s still here. Should I be concerned? I just started my menstrual cycle and it was painful to insert menstrual cup due to the swelling/roughness.

General & Family Physician, Dr. Vasudha's Response
Hi, I understand your query. - Yeast infection is treated by Candinox vaginal tablets -which are to be inserted vaginally & have a local action against fungal infection. - In severe infection/ non responding cases , it has to be accompanied by oral anti fungal agents like- Flucanozole /metranidazole. - Mostly the treatment is to be given to both the sex partners & it's needful to avoid sex till the condition is cleared. * You should consult a gynecologist & get a prescription of suitable doses for you. Thanks.
