I have low Dhea and im an old patient of PCoD. My insulin serum test was high years bck but i never had sugar when tested. The doctor had earlier pit me on glyciphage sr 500mg then 1000 n then now when i showed to anither doctor she changed the glyciphage to cetapin sr and gave biopreg f nd calcirol .im 37+ no child n im obese. Plz tell me tking cetapin is right and shuld i continue taking biopreg and can i improve my dhea and conceive. Im in a condition of stress n depression too
I understand your concern. You have insulin resistance which is the cause of your PCOD. Both Glyciphage and Cetapin are the same medicine Metformin made by two different companies and are interchangeable. Metformin is safe and helpful in reducing insulin resistance. But it should be used along with life style changes like eating smaller portions of wholesome food, exercising and stress management to lose your weight. With loss of weight and the use of metformin, your Insulin Resistance and PCOD would improve and your chances of pregnancy improves. Best wishes, Dr. Noble Zachariah
