Is Chantix Tablet The Right Medicine For Depression And Mood Swings?

We bought some Chantix as prescribed for my husband i Nov. 08. It was super expensive, not covered by ins. then. The next day before he started they were talking on the radio about depression and mood swings and he chickened out, so to speak and never used it. still sealed . would it be safe or efficacious to use now? hard to throw 143$ away.

have you consulted any doctor before you bought the same?
I am afraid to say that atkeast so far it's not a drug approved for mood swings and depression. currently it is only recommended to help people to Quit Smoking.
The adverse effects have been I have used it in quite a few patients and the results have been really promising in Quitting Smoking.
I understand it would be difficult to throw $143, but everything has a shelf-life, if it is still within the expiry period then you can use it, if it had crossed that date it's recommended to discard the same.
