Is Cipro 500 Mg The Right Medicine For Urinary Tract Infection?

I had a urine culture that indicated 50,000 CFU/ml Escherichia coli. I was prescribed cipro 500 mg and told to cut the pill in half and take 250 mg morning and night. Do you feel this is enough antibiotic to correct this problem. I seem to be bloated and have bowel movements a couple of times each day.

i understand your problem , dont worry your doc has made right choice only

ciprofloxacin 250 mg twice a day for 3 days is the enough for uncomplicated urinary tract infection of e.coli, if i were ur doctor i would have done the same ,

nausea and stomach upset , diarrhea are common side effects , dont worry about that , they ll go away ,, drink a lot of water and stay hydrated ..drink raspberry juices ..if you have other side effects like nightmares , joint pain muscle pain , depression then it should be concerned
