Is Crestor An Effective Alternative For Lipitor?

my doctor put me on 10mg of lipitor. within a few days of taking it, i developed a bad UTI! I was given a shot, and antibitoics to take for 7-10 days and follow back up with them. Im sacred to take the crestor she has prescribed because of the bad infection from them lipitor. should i just take something natural, and eat right?

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

Both of these drugs belong to same group called statins , and I don't think there is significant difference between the two. so you can take whatever your doctor has advised. And let me clear it out there is no relation between statin ( lipitor or crestor )and UTI so no worries about that. So if indicated you can continue using crestor.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
