hello, My husband is 33 years old and from last 4 days he is having rectul pain. our doctor advice him to blood test to know the urinal acid level. his urinal acid result is 5.6. now they prescribe him donolex dt. i want to know is is right medicin for him? and what are the side effects? thanks.
Hi . Dolonex DT contains piroxicam. It inhibits the synthesis of prostaglandins which r responsible for inflammatory pain in body. It is usually used for lower back pain, osteoarthritis, muscle pain, ear pain, pain during menstruation. It is an effective drug. Side effects may include diarrhoea, indigestion, constipation, headache, vomiting, abdominal pain. But these r rare. It may alter liver enzyme levels, but has no effect on uric acid levels. Probably it was done for suspicious arthritis causing backache and rectal pain. The uric acid level is normal. Hopefully u will improve with this drug. Also rule out constipation...if present take laxatives.
