Is EMG Necessary For Numbness On Left Side Of The Body?

I am to have an EMG and I m not sure I should go through it. I have numbness on almost all of my left side of my body. I have had two back sugeries last one was a fusion. My spine is a mess but is this test really going to benfit me or is just a waste of money?

Hi welcome to HCM.
Numbness on one half of the body can be due to the pathology arising in the spinal cord.Spinal surgeries can lead to such complications on longterm.It is advisable to undergo MRI scan rather than EMG for such evaluation.MRI can assess the spinal pathology with great deal of accuracy.Consult your spine surgeon for further help.
