Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I would like to know if Etodolac is good for reducing fever. It is not state here that it is use for that. My husband was given this at the VA in Ann Arbor along with Sulfamethhoxazole for 30 days. He has been taking both on schedule. He is now running a fever of 101.2. He had a prostate biopsy on June 12th and now his testicle is enlarged and painful. That is when we drove 1.5 hrs. to the VA hospital in Ann Arbor and went to the ER. Should I give him something else for fever, like Tylenol with this NSAid?
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
Tylenol is safe anti pyretic you can give him for fever better than etidolac not good for health. I think he may be suffering from acute Viral fever with myalgia with orchitis. also check he may affected by mums virus or not. Same time you may do tepid sponging to cool body temperature. If symptoms not improved please consult your physician he will examine and treat you accordingly.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
