Is Fortam Inj Ceftazidime 1 Gm Effective Medication For Typhoid?

My age is 23 male. I m suffering from typhoid fever ( reports s.typhi o 1/320 and h 1/160 positive) and from the past three days i am treated with fortam inj ceftazidime 1 gm b.d I.v . I wanted to know that is it the right prescription for typhoid fever?

I appreciate your concern for the effectiveness of Inj Ceftazidime in the treatment of typhoid fever.

Inj. Ceftazdime is highly effective against Pseudomonal infections like hospital acquired pneumonia, infected burns, septicemia, urinary tract infection and bones and joints infection.
It is less effective against Salmonella responsible for typhoid fever.

For the treatment of typhoid Fluoroquinolones or Cephalosporins like Ceftriaxone or Cefixime are found be most effective.
