My daughter had Pcod at age 14 & under went reqd treatment for 1& a half years on glycomet. She is 28 yrs now & was again experiencing longer gaps between periods.(approximate 35- 40 days instead of 30) Although ultrasound doesn t show PCO coz of being obese 100kg,her doctor put her on rejumet. Since then she is feeling nausea & uneasy especially when dose was increased to 2 tablet. This has been now reversed back to 1 tablet.my question is whether the medicine rejumet is needed or not.She is on a daily walking 4-5 kms&diet control plan.
Hi, Welcome to Healthcare Magic Forum. I have gone through your Query & I really appreciate your concern about the problem you are facing.
Brief Answer : Yes Rejumet is a Essential Component of PCOD treatment
Detailed Answer : As a physician I would like to tell you that I Empathize with your daughter and you. I know how hard it is for PCOS patient. But the treatment includes Loosing wight and correcting Hormonal imbalance by restoring menstrual periods back to normal
Also there are quite some side effects of these Medications and the patient has to bear with them. Also, I want to advise you that as by your history, She is exercising quite a bit per day. But I would like to suggest that you also take opinion of a Bariatric surgeon. Many of bariatric surgeries are proving to be quite helpful in obese patients
Thanks for Trusting & Posting your Query on this forum. Hope this will help you. Feel free to ask any further question. Have a nice Day.
Regards, Dr.Abhijeet
