Is HRT Helpful In Preventing Hip Pain?

Hi Dr. Grief, I am 6 months post TAH with no Ovaries and no HRT. I am having toothache like pain that starts in my hip sockets and runs down the front of my legs. It only bothers me when I am sitting-standing seems to be ok for the most part. Is this possibly due to not having HRT? Thanks, Sandra ~

Hello,

HRT will not help with hip pain. An Xray hip is required to identify the underlying pathology. Treatment will depend on the underlying condition and involves mainly pain management.
