Is HSV1 Spread By Physical And Sexual Contact?

I was just diagnosed with HSV1 genitally, my boyfriend and I both had our first outbreaks just 2 days apart. His was a single lip blister. And further, if we do continue our relationship, will either of us be susceptible to having outbreaks in the opposite area? Can I give it to him genitally, or can he give it to me on my mouth?

Hello,
Welcome to HCM.
I have gone through your history.
Contact with HSV type 1 in the saliva of carriers is the most important mode of spread.
It begins with intense itching and pain and is followed by vesicle formation and then ulceration.
Secretion of virus in the saliva may occur up to seven weeks after recovery .
Patients with primary genital lesions are infective for seven to ten days.
I would advise to use of latex condoms during sexual intercourse which decreases the risk of infection.
Thank you
