Is Ibuprofen A Good Option For The Treatment Of Pain In The Neck?

My husband, 78 yo, has had back & 2 neck fusion surgeries. Last surgery was 13 months ago after he fell and broke C1 C2. He often is in severe pain still; even at night he wakes from pain in his hand or neck or back or feet. he wants to take 800 mg Ibuprophen. He currently takes acetaminophen, as recommended by his original surgeon. Would this be a good option as Ibuprophen is supposedly fast acting. He wants fast.

Hi,

Both Ibuprofen and Acetaminophen are a similar group of drugs, NSAIDs (non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs). But Ibuprofen is having a faster onset of action as compared to Acetaminophen.

So yes, you are right. He can definitely take Ibuprofen for faster pain relief.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
