My friend has diabetis, congestive heart failure, and has now developed gout. His doctor has prescribed indomethacin 50 mg twice a day for pain. He has deveoped some kidney failure and kidney spec said this is not a gout med. My friend is 81 and was very active until lately.
Indomethacin or any NSAID can not be given to patients with CHF(congestive heart failure),and kidney failure. your freind needs uricosuric agent FEBUXOSTAT, and safe pain killers like TRAMODOL. A gentle physiotherapy will be very helpful
