Is Lactogen Safe For An Infant When Lactation Has Reduced?

Hello, My baby is 9 weeks and he is given lactogen since day 1. I have inverted nipple and my baby couldn’t latch i used to pump but gradually my milk supply decreased and now it completely dried up. I definitely wanted to breastfeed my baby but unfortunately can t do it. Since he is given lactogen, is it safe to give? Also he throws up every 2-3 days. Will he achieve his development milestones like the babies who are brest fed?

Pediatrician 's  Response
Hello,

Your baby can be suffering reflux, this condition could be physiological because of his age but if he is not growing properly it must be treated. You should try with anti-reflux measures such as smaller but more frequent feedings. An upright position during feeding and not putting him down immediately after eating.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Mariana Josefina Sanchez, Pediatrician
