Is Lialda Right Medication For Diarrhea With Bleeding?
my 19 year old son was taking 2 lialda a day and was feeling somewhat better. However, doctor added antibiotic which increased diarrhea so he stopped taking that. Then doctor added Uceris and bleeding and diarrhea increased so he went off Uceris. Son not doing well - lots of diarrhea and bleeding along with increased stomach pain. Doctor just increased Lialda to 3 per day and is adding 40 mg prednisone. We feel like we are on a roller coaster and wondering if we are doing the right thing. Maybe the lialda is making his symptoms worse rather than better? Doctor says no.
From diarrhea with bleeding and medications (Lialda, Uceris and Prednisone), I guess your son is suffering from ulcerative colitis. If the diagnosis was that, then Lialda and Prednisone are the appropriate treatment.
Ask me for more.
Take care!
