Is Lisinopril The Right Medicine For Hypertension And Diabetes?

Hello, I am a 49 year old male with diabetes and hypertension. I am taking the drug lisinipril. I recently went in to have labs done and they told me to go to the hosp. My potassium level is 7.2. I have been sitting in the waiting room for the last 1 and a half hours. I am not feeling well at all. Shola I be worried?

I understand your concerns and i'm sorry for the situation
you are in.

Lisinopril that you use to control high blood pressure retains potassium in the organism. That is the point that should be checked periodically in patients who are treated with this family of drugs.

Normal potassium ranges of potassium are 3,5-5. So you have hyperkalemia (hyperpotassemia). Talk with your doctor at your healthcare center and quit this kind of drug to change it with another!
