Is MRI A Confirmatory Test For Sciatica?

Hi.. I have symptoms of Sciatica. My doctor has advised me to take an LS Spine MRI. I did take an X-ray but the doctor couldnt spot anything amiss. Will an MRI help? I have been having these pains for almost 8 months now... Started off after a typhoid fever.

HI
Thank for asking to HCM
I can understand your problem look sciatic never is in fact the name of group of never and not the disease, irritation, of this verve can cause the pain, MRI test will not give the image of this never this will only rule out the other possibility, and so why MRI must have been suggested, hope this information helps you, have good day.
