The pus cells could be a result of bladder inflammation and not necessarily indicative of infection. If the culture results are negative, she may have another cause that needs to be diagnosed. However, a negative culture can result in the presence of an infection if antibiotics had recently been taken. These are pretty strong antibiotics she is being given, but generally I would only use them if I have a positive culture result and tests showing that the bacteria are susceptible to the antibiotics being prescribed. Hope this helps.
