Is Mifegest Kit The Right Medicine For Abortion?

Hello sir my wife is 27 yr old we have one baby. But my wife is pregnent last six weeks but we dont want baby now.so we use mifegest kit with the suggestion of doctor.she take one tab 27_03_15 at 11:30am but after 25 hours not bleeding start and doctor says that it start working after 12 hours. Now what we do plz tell

I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

Yes, it is effective in terminating the pregnancy provided it should be taken within 7 weeks of pregnancy and the pregnancy should be intrauterine (in the uterine cavity).

Mifegest kit contains 5 tablets in total. One tablet of Mifepristone which has to be taken first, followed by 4 tablets of Misoprostol, which have to be taken within 48 hours of the consumption of the first pill (Mifepristone).

Since she has taken the first tablet of Mifepristone, she has to take the remaining 4 tablets of Misoprotol after 48 hrs.

After taking the second medication Misoprostol tablets, cramping & bleeding may begin as soon as 20 minutes. Within the next 6 to 8 hours, most women will abort.

When used in combination, Mifepristone & Misoprostol are 95% to 97% effective in terminating the pregnancy within 2 weeks.

After 2 weeks, a follow-up exam is required to make sure the process of abortion is complete. A very small percentage (5%) of women does not pass the pregnancy tissue and need a suction procedure to complete the process.
