Hello. Thank you for writing to us at healthcaremagic
The topical solution that you have been using contains
minoxidil. The recommended strength of its use is 2% or 3% in females and 5% in males, twice daily.
A few individuals may notice an increase in hair shedding when they start using minoxidil. This may happen because minoxidil induces the transformation of hair follicles from telogen(resting phase) to anagen(growing phase).
The new anagen hair that grows pushes out the resting telogen hair out of the hair follicle and this may manifest as increase hair shedding.
This is actually a good sign that the medicine is working. The increased shedding would naturally stop itself in another 2-4 weeks.
Besides minoxidil I would also like to add a
biotin Supplement once daily. Biotin is essential for hair growth and its deficiency can be one of the causes of
hair fall.
Other than Biotin a good healthy wholesome diet rich in nutrients,
vitamins and minerals is essential for good hair.
Premature graying is amenable to treatment with PABA(para amino benzoic acid) and Calicum pantothenate. Both have been found useful in reversing premature graying.
Topical melitane is also beneficial in reversing and halting premature graying.
These are all prescription medications and therefore I suggest you to talk to your doctor in more details and for the needful.
