Is Nitroglycerin Solution Safe To Be Used For Sunspots On The Face?

Dear doctor, During a recent visit with my dermatologist, she sprayed my face with a nitroglycerin solution to treat sunspots. I have had treatments in the past for cancerous and precancerous warts and moles on my body. Is the use of this spray common for sunspots?

Hi.
As per your case history of sun-spots, my treatment advice is -
1. Avoid sun exposure and use a good sunscreen lotion with spf more than 30.
2. Nitroglycerin will not be effective for such spots, so avoid it.
3. Apply a mild topical steroid cream like flutivate once daily on spots and kojivit cream once at night.
4. Other treatment options are oral vitamin C, antoxid-hc, hydroxy chloroquine taken only after consulting a dermatologist.

Thanks.
